Giovanna Barreira Cain has an LL.M. in Comparative Law from Louisiana State University and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar. Problem-solving and building bridges to connect clients’ goals across multiple borders is something she is passionate about. Giovanna is admitted to practice law in Brazil and Louisiana. She has seven years of experience in business, international, insurance, and immigration law. As a native of Brazil and an immigrant herself, she has a personal approach to the very complex immigration procedures within the U.S. system.
Giovanna began her law career in Brazil, where she holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and a specialist diploma in International Business Law. Giovanna practiced international business and immigration law as an associate at Hermano Advogados Associados. After nearly three years of extensive experience handling transactional matters for clients from all over the globe, she moved to the United States to pursue an LL.M. in Comparative Law from LSU.
During her time at LSU, she was awarded the prestigious A.N. Yiannopoulos scholarship and worked as a research assistant in Business Law. Following graduation, Giovanna served as a Research Associate and Manager of the Journal of Civil Law Studies, where she further refined her legal writing and research skills and honored her expertise in comparative analysis.
After working with business and insurance law, deepening her practice in the realm of federal litigation throughout the pandemic and remote work hearings, she found her way back to international clients and immigration law. Her desire has always been to advocate for clients seeking transactional work and legal assistance in their businesses and family matters, especially in regard to multiple-nationality parties.
